Though some Greek are agreed or not. Greek nose is the nose of  Leonardo da Vinci or his Mona Lisa’s, the nose of Bollywood celebrity Karina Kapoor is founded on 3 percent of the faces studied. This type of nose is perfectly straight.

Before we going in depth study of Greek nose, we give some knowledge about importance of nose in our beauty and various types of nose,

Nose is one of the most notable part our face. For the perfect face perfection of nose is very important, there are five or seven types of face.

Greek Nose Personality Type Ultimate Sign of Beauty

Face Shape (Face Types)

Oval Type Face

An oval face has slightly wider cheekbones and a gentle narrowing at the forehead and jaw.

Heart Face

A heart face is widest at the forehead and gradually narrows through to the jaw.

Round Face

A round face has softer angles with slightly wider cheekbones and an equally wide forehead and jaw.

Square Face

A square face has more angular lines with equally wide cheekbones, forehead and jaw.

Triangle Face

A triangle face is widest at the jaw and gradually narrows through to the forehead.

Golden Ratio of Human Face

It has long been said that beauty is in the eye of the beholder and thought that beauty varies by race, culture or era.  The evidence, however, shows that our perception of physical beauty is hard wired into our being and based on how closely the features of one’s face reflect phi in their proportions.  The Golden Ratio appears extensively in the human face,

What ever beauty may be, it has for it’s basis order, and for it’s essence unity. – Father Andre

The criterion of true beauty is that it increases on examination, if false, that it lessens. There is therefore, something in true beauty that corresponds with right reason, and is not the mere creation of fancy. – Lord Greville.

The Golden Ratio

The golden ratio is a mathematical equation devised by the Greeks in an attempt to measure beauty.

While the ratio can by applied to anything, and was used by Leonardo Da Vinci for the the perfect human male body in his famous work the Virtruvian Man, it is also applied to the human face.

The premise behind this is that the closer the ratios of a face, body or room are to the number 1.62, the more beautiful it becomes.

Though it can seem complex these can be fairly simple equations to try on yourself.

For example, the simplest measurement is the length of your face divided by the width of your face.

Width of lips divided by length and length of nose divided by width are other calculations you can try.

Twentieth-century artists and architects, including Le Corbusier and Dalí, have used the golden ratio. The golden ratio also appears in some patterns in nature, including the spiral arrangement of leaves and other plant parts.

Andy Warhol’s screen print of Marilyn Monroe from 1967 had a score of 89.1 per cent – with high marks for her nose shape, lips and eye position.

Marilyn was the greatest Hollywood female star of her day and that is because she was incredibly beautiful.

The Birth Of Venus by Sandro Botticelli in the 1480s came second on 89 per cent – scoring highly for her chin, face shape and forehead.

However, she had the lowest scores for her eyebrows and chin.

‘Venus has been beguiling art lovers since she was painted by the Italian master Sandro Botticelli way back in 1480.

‘She scores highly for her chin, face shape and forehead and is let down by her eye position and a poor brow area.

‘The new research confirms what many people have thought for centuries – the Mona Lisa is a beautiful painting but she falls short of what the Greeks viewed as physical perfection.

‘She misses out on perfection for a number of reasons – her wide ‘manly’ face, poor shaping of her eyes, slight double chin, and the small gap between her lips and nose.

‘The Mona Lisa is the most famous painting in the world by a considerable distance and there is no doubt it changed the whole face of modern art.

‘But while we may all love her enigmatic smile and admire the brilliance of da Vinci’s brushstrokes, other works of art come far closer to matching what the Greeks considered physical perfection’.

Symmetry and Harmony

As it turns out, many have discussed the forms of facial attractiveness, and indeed the form of beauty in general, as being composed of or the result of two “ideal” components.

These components are: -Symmetry- and -Harmony-

Symmetry – can be defined as the mirror image of parts or components about an axis.By all accounts a beautiful face is symmetric – at least about the vertical or “y” axis.

Harmony – can be defined as a recurring theme.

Many researchers have proposed that there may possibly be recurring themes in the shape or form of the face. Some of these proposed themes are geometric figures such as circles, ovals, triangles, squares, curves, and angles.

Others have proposed themes which are mathematical relationships within the face. These include the square root of 2, gnomic spirals, and various proportional relationships, such as facial thirds, facial fifths and facial sevenths.

Unfortunately none of these themes have been shown to be consistent in beautiful faces or predict beauty in any repeatable or reproductible format.

Types of Nose

We live in a visual culture. For better or worse, men, women, and even children understand that outward appearance elicits opinions from friends and strangers alike. In the middle of that lies the nose.

If you are not satisfied with the shape of your nose, blame it on climate, not your parents or grandparents.

Generally, wider noses are more common in warm and humid climates, while narrower noses are more common in cold and dry climates.

It showed that the width of the nostrils is strongly correlated with temperature and absolute humidity, but not the result of a random process called genetic drift.

One purpose of the nose is to condition the air that we breathe, to ensure that it is warm and moist when it reaches the lungs, which helps to prevent infections.

the narrower nostrils seem to alter the airflow so that the mucous-covered inside of the nose can humidify and warm the air more efficiently.

It was probably more essential to have this trait in cold and dry climates,

People with narrower nostrils probably fared better and had more offspring than people with wider nostrils, in colder climates. This lead to a gradual decrease in nose width in populations living far away from the equator.”

The nose has had a complex evolutionary history, however, and researchers suspected that additional factors, such as cultural preferences when picking a mate, have also played a role in shaping the nose.

Rhinoplasty was one of the earliest cosmetic procedures performed, and for obvious reasons. A century ago, clothing showed little skin and fashion hid a multitude of flaws. The nose was central—literally and figuratively—to the appearance. An attractive nose could, and still does, overshadow a host of other features.

From ancient Greece to the Renaissance, philosophers and artists have defined beauty according to a set of classic principles. Despite these idealizations, however, beauty remains elusive, often defying the rules. Individual tastes, cultural influences, modern style and the media can all eclipse the original formula.

What, then, makes a person’s face look beautiful? It’s not a simple answer. Authentic beauty encompasses both proportion and the harmonious balance of individual facial features and how they work together.

Our idea of an attractive nose is no exception. The Greeks had their perfect nose, as did the Romans, the Arabs, the Hindi and even the Mayans.

Professor Abraham Tamir toured shopping centres in Europe and Israel, taking candid photographs of people with interesting noses. He then sorted the 1,300 pictures and matched each with a face on a painting or other piece of art.

This revealed there to be 14 types of nose, with classifications ranging from ‘fleshy’ to ‘celestial’.

The most common, particularly among men, was the fleshy nose, best illustrated by Prince Philip, which featured on almost a quarter of all the faces studied.

Writing in the Journal of Craniofacial Surgery, Professor Tamir says those with such a nose are likely to be generous, emotional, helpful and sensitive. We are providing details of  these 14 types of nose with some other types of nose classified by other experts.

20. Southeast Asians Nose (Flate Nose)

Flate Nose
Flate Nose

The rarest of all the nose types, this flat, rounded shape was found in only one face out of the 1793 considered – 0.05 percent of the population. For this reason, the study author says there are no important figures to represent this nose.

Southeast Asians have flat noses. And caucasians having higher noses. This is because they’ve evolved from a harsh cold climate, having a small nostril and lining has a highet evolutionary advantage to survive. A thin nostril would function in a way that would warm the air being inhaled before it gets to the lungs. This function is biologically efficient in cold climates. The rest of the world who evolved mostly from a tropical climate or hot climate has to have a wider nose because there is no evolutionary advantage to have a thin inner nose lining.

Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty

Tiny amounts of an injectable dermal filler (such as Radiesse, Artefill, Juvederm, or Silicone) are injected into areas that need to be filled out to achieve a smoother, more symmetrical appearance. The filler is injected in minuscule amounts using what is called a microdroplet technique.

This procedure is not exactly a quick fix, as the end result is only achieved after a series of several treatments, with at least 4-6 weeks in between sessions. This gradual approach is necessary because of the way these fillers work.

After injection, your body’s defenses begin working to “wall off” each microdroplet of the filler material, forming a capsule of tissue that holds it in position. Over a period of time, the natural tissue built up around the filler creates more volume in the area, so the result cannot be accurately judged at the end of each injection session.

Only after the prescribed amount of time is it possible for the doctor and patient to judge if and where more injections are needed, as well as how much is needed. This allows to doctor and patient to judiciously decide when enough is enough.
